Snorkeling at Two-Step

AttractionHonaunau, ~40 min from KonaSnorkelingWildlife

A natural two-tiered lava shelf at the entrance to Kealakekua Bay creates the perfect ocean entry point for one of the best snorkeling spots on the Big Island. Spinner dolphins regularly shelter in the bay, and the coral garden just offshore is vibrant with reef fish, turtles, and occasionally manta rays.

Tip: Get there early (7-9 AM) to beat the crowds and see spinner dolphins — they shelter in the bay each morning before heading offshore to feed. There are no facilities, so bring everything you need. Combine with Puuhonua o Honaunau next door.
