Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Driving Destination~2 hr 30 min from KonaVolcanoHikeScenic

Home to Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes. Drive the 11-mile Crater Rim Drive for views of the Halemaumau caldera, walk through the Thurston Lava Tube, and hike the Devastation Trail across a landscape reborn from past eruptions. At night, the glow from the caldera is visible from the Jaggar Museum overlook.

Tip: Enter by 4 PM to experience both daylight views and the volcanic glow after dark. Check the NPS website for current eruption status — it changes frequently.
